BMW anger 7 timmar och 30 minuter för en full laddning. Från en vanlig laddbox på 11 kW laddar bilen med 11 kW, och ett fullt batteri kräver då ungefär 15 timmar. Med en kabel på 11 kW skulle bilen begränsas till 11 kW även vid en laddbox på 22 kW, så det är 22 kW-kabeln som låter laddaren arbeta fullt ut.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eBackar du in iX5, hamnar laddluckan bak till höger tätt intill väggen, och en laddbox på samma sida klarar sig med sex meter kabel. Parkerar du framlänges, hamnar luckan i andra änden av en nästan fem meter lång bil, och kabeln får gå längs hela högersidan. Det kräver åtta meter. Med en annan bil parkerad mellan iX5 och väggen räcker tio meter vid backning, medan inkörning framlänges kräver 15 meter.
